Grants from the Nordic Cancer Union
Applications close 1. September 2010.
The Nordic Cancer Union (NCU) provides funding to support and stimulate collaborative cancer research within the Nordic countries (minimum two countries). The research projects must have cancer relevance, be uniquely suited to be carried out within the Nordic countries, and the effect of collaboration should be synergistic.
In accordance with the NCU Strategy for 2006-2010, funding is restricted to research within
1) epidemiological research, 2) health promotion and/or 3) rehabilitation of cancer patients. In addition, funding may be granted to projects that extensively promote Nordic cooperation within the field of cancer.
Grants are provided for one year. Further support for the project will require new applications. As a general rule, project funding can only be renewed twice. A project can obtain funding from NCU for a total of maximum three years. We recommend that researchers who have received grants for three years or more for the same project put forward new project applications. Evaluation is made by a Nordic scientific committee.
